Handset maker OnePlus on Wednesday officially revealed the first image of the OnePlus 12R, the second model of the OnePlus 12 series. the first OnePlus R Series device to launch in global markets. The device has been shown in Cool Blue and Iron Gray colourways, which is a departure from its predecessor, OnePlus 11R which did not get a blue colour variant. The OnePlus 12R Cool Blue model has a glossy finish with a light, fresh appearance, while Iron Gray has a matte feel to give a sophisticated and strong feeling, as per the handset maker.
Alert Slider Change In OnePlus 12R
Both colours feature a matte metal frame to feel reassuringly strong in your hand, with the iconic OnePlus Alert Slider now located on the left of the phone. This change allowed OnePlus to introduce a new integrated antenna system which claims enhanced performance during online gaming sessions, making OnePlus 12R the perfect place to play. The handet maker further said that a smartphone doesn’t need to be “Plus” “Pro” or “Ultra” to provide the best hardware specs and software experience, possibly taking a swipe at rival brands that launch a vanilla and pro models alongside.
OnePlus 12R Will Be Available In Europe And North America
The OnePlus 9R was the first phone to launch in the OnePlus R series, in 2021 and continued with the OnePlus 10R in 2022 and OnePlus 11R in 2023. All the OnePlus R series phones have previously been available only in India and China. OnePlus R Series devices are performance-focused “flagships” designed to give users the “best mobile gaming” experience and have received good response for their focus on performance and optimisation technology as well as the affordable price.
Now, with more graphically intense mobile games launching worldwide, OnePlus has listened to the demands of its users and will be bringing the OnePlus R Series to North America and Europe for the first time, the handset maker confirmed on Wednesday.
As seen in previously leaked teaser images, the OnePlus 12R is likely to bring notable enhancements, as compared to its predecessors. According to leaks, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Additionally, the smartphone is expected to showcase a substantial design upgrade, and possibly incorporate a curved display and a glass sandwich design complemented by a metallic mid-frame.
