OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS Buds With ANC Unveiled: Check Specs, Prices And More

New Delhi: Handset maker OnePlus has just unveiled OnePlus Buds Z2 – the successor to its budget true wireless earbuds. The OnePlus Buds Z2 looks quite similar to the previous-gen Buds Z with Active Noise cancellation (ANC), 11mm dynamic drivers have been launched globally, months after being unveiled in China. The TWS earbuds are currently available only in Pearl White colour option and an Obsidian Black colour variant is likely to arrive next year.

Launched in OnePlus’ home turf in China in October for CNY 499 or roughly Rs 6,000, the OnePlus Buds Z2 is currently available for $99 that roughly translates into Rs 7,600. The white colour option of the OnePlus Buds Z2 can be purchased in the US. The latest TWS buds from OnePlus will also be available in Europe and the UK starting next week.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 are likely to arrive with a similar price tag when they launch in India alongside the expected OnePlus RT, the event for which is expected to be not too far away.

OnePlus Buds Z2 specifications

The OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS buds arrive with 11mm dynamic drivers that are an upgrade over the 10mm drivers on the previous-gen OnePlus Buds Z. The company says that this year’s Buds Z2 are capable of delivering noise cancellation of up to 40dB. Along with the bigger drivers is the Transparency Mode that will let users hear ambient sounds apart from listening to music and during calls.

In terms of design, the OnePlus Buds Z2 arrive with 15 per cent shorter stem and a lighter weight as compared to the Buds Z. There is an IP55-rating for resistance against dust, water and sweat. The bundled charging case is only IPX4-rated for resistance against splashes of water.

In terms of battery, each TWS bud is fitted with a 40mAh battery and the charging case has a 520mAh battery that means 38 hours of battery life. The buds can provide 7 hours of battery on a single charge with ANC off and with ANC turned on they can provide 5 hours of battery life. The company’s proprietary Flash Charge gives 5 hours of juice on the buds and the case with 10 minutes of charge.

Customisable gestures on the OnePlus Buds Z2 can be activated directly via OxygenOS. Also, the HeyMelody app can let users set the same customisations. Those using a OnePlus device need not download the Hey

Connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.2 which delivers a latency rate of as low as 94ms in the Pro Gaming mode. Also, there are other modes such as Cinematic Movie, Mobile Gaming, Immersive Music modes for custom adjustments.
