OnePlus 12 Key Details Leaked: Bigger Battery And Return Of Wireless Charging Spotted

OnePlus 12, the successor to the popular OnePlus 11 is likely to be launched in December and the handset would come with a significant upgrade in the camera department, a leak suggested recently. Now, another leak has surfaced that suggests that the OnePlus 12 would get a  big upgrade in terms of battery capacity, RAM and onboard storage. The previous leak had indicated a periscope camera and a glossy back.

The OnePlus 12 is likely to be officially launched in December this year or early 2024. Specifications and key details of the handset have been leaked by SmartPrix, in collaboration with famed leakster OnLeaks, and according to that, the OnePlus 12 would come with an AMOLED display with 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The OnePlus 12 could get a big battery, a 5,400mAh one, with support for 100W proprietary wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Among other upgrades are a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 64MP telephoto camera, which are significant upgrades over the OnePlus 11 5G. Apart from the battery capacity upgrade, the OnePlus 12 could mark the return of 50W wireless charging too.

The previously leaked renders showed OnePlus 12 in black colour with a glossy back, which was missing in the OnePlus 11. OnePlus will most likely release more colour options at the time of launch, which is still not clear. In terms of design language, there won’t be much difference from this year’s OnePlus 11. It would likely have the same huge circular camera module at the back, but the camera would get a significant upgrade in the form of a periscope camera on the OnePlus 12. The LED flash seems to have moved to the top-left corner of the camera. The front side may have a bezel-less screen with a selfie camera moved from the corner to the centre of the screen. The alert slider and power button are placed on the right side and the volume keys are on the left.

To recall, late last month, OnLeaks and SmartPrix had posted images of the OnePlus V Fold with a rear that has a centre-aligned camera module that has three camera units and a Hasselblad label. The foldable smartphone space is seeing stiff competition from handset makers like Oppo and Tecno which have unveiled their Oppo Find N2 Flip and Tecno Phantom V foldable devices. The latter, interestingly, is the first foldable phone to be unveiled under Rs 1 lakh. Samsung is also set to refresh its foldable portfolio this month.
