Finally, the wait for one of the most anticipated films of the year is over as Adipurush has finally hit the screens today. The movie, which has been directed by Om Raut, faced backlash after its first teaser was released, because of shoddy VFX and the alleged misrepresentation of mythological characters. While veteran actors like Mukesh Khanna criticised the trailer later, Adipurush received best wishes from Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, just a day before its release.

The trailer shared by Aamir Khan Productions depicts the kidnapping of Sita by Ravana and Jatayu’s attempt to stop him. It also shows Lord Ram preparing his army to attack Lanka and rescue Sita from Ravan’s clutches.
Adipurush, apart from being criticised for its VFX in the teaser, recently also ran into trouble over Sita being referred to as the “Daughter of India”. According to mythology, Sita was born in Janakpuri which is in Nepal. Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah threatened to not allow the screening of any Indian film in the country’s capital until the makers had a remedy for the “mistake”. The makers of Adipurush decided to remove the controversial dialogue from the film.
According to reports, early morning shows for the film are houseful and fans have already declared the movie a blockbuster. According to multiple film trade analysts, Adipurush will easily cross the Rs 50 crore mark on the first day of its release.
