Wife Rachna said – Officer’s son was angry for not saluting

The atmosphere in Bhorajwala Dhani was one of grief and shock. Jawan’s wife Rachna Devi (32) was in no condition to talk. We reached the room where the mourning women were tending to Rachna Devi. We asked Rachna Devi to answer some questions because she was living with Bhojraj in the ITBP campus.

Rachna Devi told- My husband used to go to the officer’s place three times a day to work as a cook. 8 to 10 in the morning, 12.30 to 2.30 in the afternoon and 8 to 10 in the night. That day (Wednesday) they had left a little earlier. In fact, two cooks were employed at Officer Lokpal Singh’s place. Both the cooks often went to work together, but on Wednesday they reached her home alone at 12.20.

The officer’s son Digvijay Singh used to get angry on every issue. He used to tell my husband to salute me as you salute my father.

He also used to quarrel with the cook over the keys of the car. Digvijay’s father had said that don’t give the car key to his son until I say so. Then the son used to fight with my husband for the key.

ITBP Head Constable Bhoop Singh is survived by wife, sons Jatin and Tashu. A few days ago, Bhup Singh had told his mother that he would come to the village on July 1. But now his dead body has come. In the picture, Bhoop Singh's wife Rachna holding the younger son Tashu in her lap.

Digvijay used to create ruckus till 2-2, 3-3 in the night after drinking alcohol. My husband used to bring it.

On the question of Digvijay not being mentally healthy, Rachna Devi said – He is not mad. Exactly right. The husband had left early that day. Had he gone with another cook, he would have killed both of them.

I do not know whether he had a pistol license or not. He had two pistols. The police had deposited a pistol earlier. Don’t know how he got the pistol again.

The purse story is false, three people in the conspiracy of murder

Rachna Devi said- These people are trying to save the accused Digvijay Singh. The purse story is false. He told that actually there was a fight between Digvijay and his mother that day. Whose anger Digvijay vented on my husband. When Digvijay Singh started firing on my husband, his mother was there. Shot my husband 3 times in front of him.

During this, the mother went to DC’s house and sat down by locking the gate. After this, Digvijay Singh’s father Lokpal Singh asked his son to come downstairs after changing clothes. The accused came downstairs after washing and cleaning the marks of blood on his body. If the mother had explained to her son, if he had done something, something could have happened. Maybe my husband would have been alive.

Rachna Devi alleged that officer Lokpal Singh, his wife and son Digvijay were all guilty of killing my husband. All three should be hanged. Blood should be replaced by blood.

The mortal remains of Bhoop Singh reached his village Bhorajwala Dhani (Rampur) around 11.30 pm on Thursday late night. Father's last rites were performed at the hands of elder son Jatin (5) on Friday morning.
