Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice to the Punjab government on the petition of former Congress minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu. The High Court has sought the status report of the case related to Ashu by the government. Its next hearing will be held on Monday.

Claims are being made against Ashu to investigate the complaint regarding tendering in the Food Supply Department as his minister. Ashu had demanded from the High Court that the government should include him in this investigation. Apart from this, give one week’s notice before arrest.

2000 crore tender scam allegation
Ashu is being accused of a tender scam of Rs 2,000 crore. Vigilance is probing it. Ashu was accused by small contractors of malpractices in the labor and transportation tenders in the mandis of Punjab. 20-25 people were benefitted by ignoring small contractors.

Ashu has told political vendetta
Former minister Ashu has denied these allegations against him. He says that this tender is approved by the Deputy Commissioner’s committee at the district level. So it is not right to hold them responsible for this. He termed it a conspiracy for political vendetta.
