Manu Sharma, vice president and general manager, Nothing India has announced his departure from the company. He will Nothing at the end of January 2024. Sharma cited personal reasons for leaving the company and expressed confidence in Nothing India’s strong product lineup for 2024, making note of the capable team in place. He made the announcement via a LinkedIn post. In February 2021, London-headquartered Nothing had appointed Sharma, previously senior director of mobile business at Samsung India, just ahead of the launch of their inaugural device, the Nothing Phone (1).
“As we ring in the year 2024 very soon, I am excited to share that I have decided to move on from Nothing. The last 3 years have been very eventful and memorable. This has been the most fortunate & incredible time of my life to build the foundation of the Nothing brand in India from ground zero. The decision to move on came after intensive deliberation due to personal reasons. Nothing India is in an incredibly strong position, has a very robust pipeline of products in 2024 and with a very capable team. I am very excited about the adventure that awaits, but I am not leaving just yet and will be with Nothing India till the end of January 2024,” Sharma posted.
London-based start-up Nothing has, meanwhile, revealed plans to host an event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next year on February 27th, where expectations are high from the brand. Nothing is likely to reveal details about its upcoming offerings.
Meanwhile, Nothing Phone (2), the second smartphone from London-based consumer electronics brand Nothing, debuted in India in July this year and six months later, the company announced a significant price cut on the phone. Its prices were cut by Rs 5,000, earlier this month. Available on e-commerce site Flipkart, the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is now priced at Rs 39,999. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, the phone features a distinctive Glyph interface, a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, and is powered by a 4,700mAh battery.
