The inaugural batch at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi has 52 students in undergraduate (UG) courses in Computer Science and Engineering and Energy Engineering.

Business tycoon and chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, is well-known for his engaging social media presence. He often shares videos showcasing ingenious ‘jugaads’ created by everyday people, applauding the hard work and innovative spirit of Indians. Mahindra is also quick to celebrate India’s accomplishments on the global stage. In line with this, on Friday, he shared a clip of the newly inaugurated IIT Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi.

Taking to the microblogging platform X, Anand Mahindra expressed his thoughts on the launch of the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi. He emphasized that knowledge, not firearms, is the true path to global influence. “IIT Abu Dhabi. The best way to ‘conquer’ the world. Not through firepower but brainpower,” Mahindra wrote on X.

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan inaugurated IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi, the first international campus of India’s prestigious Indian Institute of Technology on Monday.

During the event, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed also oversaw the launch of strategic partnerships between IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi, its parent campus IIT-Delhi, and leading higher education institutions in Abu Dhabi, including Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Zayed University.

The inaugural batch at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi has 52 students in undergraduate (UG) courses in Computer Science and Engineering and Energy Engineering. IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi had previously launched its first Masters of Technology (M.Tech) programme in Energy Transition and Sustainability in January this year.

The foundation of IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi was formalised through an agreement between the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, IIT Delhi, and India’s Ministry of Education, witnessed by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2023, the release said.
