In the Bharat Jodo Yatra, many times you see Rahul Gandhi meeting common people. Sometimes they are with a child, sometimes with a student, sometimes with a sweeper. Actually, everything is not that easy as it appears in the journey. It is not at all what it appears to be. Rahul does not suddenly meet anyone, nor does he invite anyone standing on the way to meet him.
Who will meet, when, how and where will they stand during the yatra? All this is pre-decided. Those who meet are thoroughly investigated. All this is decided by the management team of Rahul Gandhi. The persons to meet Rahul are decided a day in advance.
Medical students got approval 2 days ago
Before reaching Ujjain on 29 November, medical students in Ninora accompanied Rahul. He got approval from Rahul’s team two days before. Earlier from 6 am to 8 am only kept on walking. Even got disappointed for a while. They felt that they do not know whether Rahul remembers us or not. After 2 hours the news came to him that now after tea break he can go with Rahul. He was called in advance in Rahul’s security circle.
These students told Rahul that what is the condition of medical education? They have completed one year of studies, but there are no exams. When you are studying for the second year, then there are papers of the first year. Sometimes the papers get leaked, and sometimes their answer sheets are found in the toilet.
No leader, only Rahul works
Tanvi, who reached Rahul’s camp in Indore with her father, was also insisting on meeting Rahul, but this girl studying in KG II did not know that it is not so easy to meet Rahul. Tanvi’s father kept recommending to the leaders outside the camp, but no one was able to assure him to meet Rahul. Then the word was conveyed to Rahul’s ears. Rahul agreed. The journey had progressed a few steps when Rahul saw Tanvi with a piggy bank in his hands and lifted her in his lap. Everyone has seen this photo.
Prohibited to take selfie, photo is also issued by the management team
Everyone has to go through a security check to get close to Rahul. CRPF personnel engaged in Rahul’s security take his mobile phone and other electronic devices from the person who meets him. One cannot even take a selfie with Rahul. The photo with Rahul is also shot by his team only. Then Rahul gives them a scanner print, so that they can upload the photo taken with Rahul from it. Only a few social media handlers have been allowed to carry the device during the 83-day journey so far.
Journalists are walking along but they are not talking on channel id
It is not that Rahul is not meeting media persons. He has asked media colleagues to walk with him, but he is not talking on the ID of any channel. He is talking to reporters. Probing his mind, but not giving recorded statement. For this, he has chalked out a strategy that wherever he goes, he will hold a press conference in a systematic manner.
Where will Rahul take tea break is decided in advance
Daily newspaper The team has followed Rahul’s journey very closely. Have accompanied them on their journey back and forth. We see Rahul walking with brisk steps, but he and his security personnel and the travel management team know exactly where the next break is going to be. A mini pickup van stops there before Rahul can reach. Chairs, center table, snacks and disposal plates are kept in it.
There is also a gas stove, so that tea or coffee can be made for Rahul. There are also some thermoses, so that even if Rahul spends more time in conversation, he can be served hot coffee. Rahul does not drink sweet coffee. Those who go inside with Rahul also have to add sugar separately if they want to drink sweet tea or coffee. Here also his team brings breakfast for Rahul.
A tent is also set up at the breakfast area.
Before reaching Ujjain on Monday, Rahul stayed at Naushad Khan’s farm house on the way. Same happened here. The people of Rahul’s team had arrived in a mini pickup with chairs and complete breakfast items. A separate tent was also put up for Rahul, but Rahul talked to Naushad in the open along with Digvijay Singh and Anil Sadgopal and had breakfast there.
The team looking after Rahul’s travel management has a complete set of dark colored fiber chairs. These chairs seem to be everywhere. However, Rahul’s team never discloses this internal management.
It is said that Rahul has stayed here for tea break. This is done so that where Rahul is going to stay. Those house owners should not have difficulty in making arrangements for so many people coming together. Another major reason is the protocol for Rahul’s security.
Rahul does not get attracted even after seeing the big stage
Many times many people also get disappointed. People use many tricks to meet Rahul. They make big platforms. Many types of tableaux are made to please them. In the past days, in a village, the villagers self on a table on the roadside. Garland was placed on the photo of Rajiv Gandhi. He expected that Rahul would definitely stop after seeing his father’s photo, but he did not see anything in Rahul’s fast pace, crowd and security.
On the way to Indore, tribal artistes from Barwani stood dejected in traditional costumes. He expected Rahul to come. Will dance with him, but it was not possible. One woman told us that they just waved and moved on.
They would have liked it better if they had stayed. On the Khandwa to Indore road, Nimadi artists had presented Gangaur dance on the stage, but Rahul did not reach there either. The artists said that if Rahul comes there then it is fine, even if he doesn’t come then they don’t mind.

Seeing the disappointment of those who could not meet him in the first two days, it felt like meeting Rahul was difficult. Rahul is still a victim of VIP syndrome.
