Nirmala Sitharaman married her daughter from home: No leader-VIP was invited; Son-in-law works in PMO

The Finance Minister’s daughter was married according to the Vedic order of Udupi’s Adamaru Mutt.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman married her daughter in a simple ceremony on Thursday. The wedding rituals took place at their home in Bangalore. Only family members and special friends attended the wedding ceremony.

According to media reports, no leader or VIP guest was invited to the wedding. Sitharaman’s son-in-law Prateek Doshi is a resident of Gujarat. He is posted as OSD in PMO.

Saints of Udupi Adamaru Math blessed
Sitharaman’s daughter Parakala Wangmayi and Prateek were married from a Brahmin tradition. The sages of the Udupi Adamaru Mutt blessed both of them. Parakala wore a pink saree and green blouse for the wedding, while Prateek wore a white pancha and shawl. Sitharaman wore a Molakalmuru saree.

Pratik works with Prime Minister Modi
According to media reports, Sitharaman’s son-in-law Prateek is a special aide of Prime Minister Modi. He is the Officer on Special Duty in the Prime Minister’s Office. He is working in PMO since 2014. He was given the rank of Joint Secretary in 2019 and made OSD. He looks after the work of research and strategy.

Prateek is a graduate of Singapore Management School. When Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Prateek was a research assistant in his office.

Nirmala’s daughter is a feature writer

Parakala Wangmayi was born on 20 May 1991 in Chennai. Despite being the daughter of the Finance Minister, she stays away from the public eye.

Nirmala’s daughter Parakala Wangmayi is a feature writer at Mint Lounge. He holds a Masters degree from the English Department of Delhi University. He also attended Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Nirmala’s husband Parakala Prabhakar is a political economist. He has been the Communications Adviser to the Government of Andhra Pradesh from July 2014 to June 2018.

Nirmala Sitharaman shared this childhood photo of her daughter on the occasion of Daughters Day in 2019. In this, he described the daughter as a friend, philosopher and guide.
