Nine Army soldiers, including two JCOs, killed after their vehicle plunges into deep gorge in Ladakh

In a tragic incident, at least nine Indian Army soldiers lost their lives and one sustained injury after their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Ladakh on Saturday. According to officials, the incident occurred at least seven kilometres short of Kyari town. The deceased also include two Junior Commissioned Officers. (JCOs). The injured soldier has been admitted to a hospital. 

According to the information received, An ALS vehicle was moving as part of a convoy from Leh to Nyoma when it skidded into the valley. The accident occurred at around 6 pm. “There were 10 personnel travelling in the vehicle out of which nine died and one got injured. The injured personnel has been shifted to the hospital,” said Indian Army officials. 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed grief over the death of Indian Army personnel in an accident near Leh in Ladakh.
