New Covid-19 cases now coming from urban areas | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: A majority of the new Covid cases in the month of December are coming from the municipal corporation cities and this trend was very clearly visible on Tuesday.
Total 17 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours with 13 of them from Nagpur and 3 from Amravati.
Out of 13 new cases in Nagpur district, 12 are from Nagpur city alone while all the 3 patients in Amravati district were from Amravati city. Patients in Amravati also include a 13-year-old boy.
Wardha was the only district other than Nagpur and Amravati to report a Covid case. The remaining eight districts in the region reported zero new cases in the last 24 hours.
With 17 new cases and 14 recoveries in the last 24 hours, Vidarbha region now has 11,20,797 cases and 10,99,254 of them have recovered. No death was reported in the region due to Covid. Death toll is 21,384. The number of daily tests which had gone down to 5,000 on Sunday resumed to 9,132 on Monday which is good average for the region. Out of them, 17 tested positive which means the test positivity is less than 0.20%. Overall, only 111 patients are under treatment in the region. Barring Nagpur, no other district in Vidarbha has more than 20 under-treatment patients of Covid-19 at present. Eight districts have 10 or less than 10 patients under treatment.
Nagpur district conducted 4211 tests in last 24 hours with 12 of them positive. Some of them are from the same family while some have a travel history. Out of 49 patients under treatment in Nagpur district, 39 are from Nagpur city (NMC limits).
Akola: No new case was reported on Tuesday as all 526 tests resulted negative. Total caseload of the district is unchanged at 57,907 and recovery count is 56,761. Five patients are under treatment in the district.
Washim: With another zero day reported in Washim, the district continued its ‘Covid-free’ tag for one more day. There is no patient under treatment in district as all 454 tests conducted in last 24 hours resulted in negative.
Buldhana: None out of 315 tests conducted in last 24 hours was positive in Buldhana. Two patients recovered in a day. Now, out of 87,660 total Covid-19 cases, 86,980 have recovered. Only 5 patients are under-treatment.
Gondia: The district has 3 patients under treatment. None of the 73 tests was positive in a day on Tuesday. Gondia has 41,239 total cases with 40,527 recoveries till date.
Gadchiroli: Four patients recovered from Gadchiroli in last 24 hours. Now only 5 patients are under-treatment. Total 633 tests were conducted and all resulted negative.
Bhandara: 390 tests conducted in last 24 hours in Bhandara were negative. No new case neither a recovery was reported. Now, the district has 2 patients under treatment.
Wardha: One positive case was detected from 266 reports on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 49,438. No new recovery or death was reported while total recoveries and toll remained unchanged at 48,104 and 1,326 respectively. The active positive cases under treatment in the district are four as on Tuesday.
Amravati: Three new cases, all from one family in Wadali’s Ramkrishna Colony, took the caseload to 96,211 on Tuesday. Total 508 samples were tested and two females, aged 72 and 24 and a male aged 13, tested positive. This took the number of active cases under treatment to 15.
Yavatmal: With no deaths and no positive patients on Tuesday, the toll remained unchanged at 1,788. Currently there are 16 active positive patients under treatment. The administration received 657 reports. Of the 72,972 positive patients, 71,168, including 2 on Tuesday, have recovered. The test positivity rate is 9.42 %, death rate 2.45 % and daily positivity rate zero. The district has 1,765 beds for Covid patients in various hospitals.
Chandrapur: The district scored zero in terms of detection and deaths, while recovery of three more patients brought the Covid active figure down to 10 on Tuesday. There were 1,099 tests conducted during the last 24 hours and none of them was found positive. The Covid caseload remained constant at 88,879, while total recoveries inched up to 87,326. The death toll is 1,543. A total of 7,87,809 samples have been tested so far and 6,97,704 out of them have been found negative.
