New ‘Agnipath’ for army recruitment, after four years of service will get a big ‘package’

The chiefs of India’s three defense forces have announced the launch of the ‘Agneepath’ project to temporarily recruit them for four years. A post called Agnibir will also be created under the new ‘Agneepath’ recruitment scheme to include soldiers in the three defense services. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was present at the announcement ceremony of the project today.

Rajnath Singh today said that youths would be recruited in the army for four years under the Agneepath recruitment scheme. In addition, they will receive a service fund package at the time of leaving the job. The youths joining the army under this project will be called Agnibir. After six months of initial training, the recruits will be known as ‘Agnibirs’.

Most of the personnel recruited under this scheme will be released after four years. However, some soldiers will be able to continue their jobs. The army will also play an active role in getting the youths who have been discharged from the army service after four years to get jobs later. It is argued that if one served in the army for four years, his profile would be strengthened and every company would be interested in recruiting such young men.

The new rules for recruitment in the Navy and Air Force under the Army, ‘Tour of Duty / Fire Path’ program were discussed at length. The chiefs of the three forces also made a presentation to Prime Minister Modi on the issue. Agnibirs will probably be given a package of more than Rs 11 lakh at the time of leaving the job. Although they will not receive a pension. However, those who remain in the job will work in the defense services for another 15 years and will be entitled to a pension later.
