Neet Solvers’ Gang Member Dr Op Singh Arrested In Lucknow | Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: The Varanasi police on Thursday arrested Dr Om Prakash Singh, a member of NEET solvers’ gang, in Kakori area of Lucknow and also recovered admit cards, OMR sheets, cheques of different amounts and other documents from him.
Varanasi commissioner of police A Satish Ganesh said, “A team of crime branch constituted to nab the members of NEET solvers’ gang succeeded in nabbing Dr Om Prakash Singh, a resident of Amrapali Yojna, Vasant Kunck in Kakori area of Lucknow. Thakurganj and Kakori police had also sent him to jail in the past for his involvement in cases related to admission fraud and job examinations. He was wanted in many cases lodged at Thakurganj and Kakori police stations in Lucknow and Sarnath police station in Varanasi.”
During interrogation, he confessed that he was in contact with Kanhaiyalal of Varanasi through his aides Dr Sharad Singh, Dr Osama and Dr Afroz for filling forms of NEET examination for many aspirants. He also arranged solvers for the Patna-based gang run by PK alias Nilesh and Vikas Kumar.
The Varanasi police had busted the solvers’ gang during NEET (UG)-2021 in September 2021, and an FIR was lodged at Sarnath police station in this regard. So far, 14 persons involved in the racket of NEET solverss gang have been arrested, while others are out of the police net.
Recently, the district court of Varanasi rejected the plea of the anticipatory bail of the accused of the gang, including Dr Afroz, Muntazir, Anshu alias Ashutosh, Divya Jyoti Nag and Mrityunjay.
According to the commissioner of police, the court issued the proclamation under 82 CrPC against the absconding accused. The police teams have been directed to intensify the efforts to arrest them.
The mastermind of the gang, PK alias Nilesh, along with his associate Ritesh were arrested near the Ring Road Flyover in Sarnath area on November 18, 2021. His gang had been active in different states of the country for the last 5-6 years. He used to charge Rs 30 lakh to Rs 49 lakh from an aspirant of NEET.
With the help of Ritesh, who is his brother-in-law and clerk in culture and youth affairs department at the secretariat of Bihar government in Patna, he used to get the exam papers of different competitive examinations of the service commissions of UP, Uttarakhand and Bihar. Ritesh’s sister Dr. Priya, who completed her MBBS from IGIGIMS, Patna in 2019, is also involved in the gang.
