India has got a medal in the World Athletics Championships after 19 years. Prior to Neeraj, veteran athlete Anju Bobby George had won a bronze medal in 2003. In the competition, Neeraj covered a distance of 88.39 meters in his very first attempt and made it to the final. The champion of the Tokyo Olympics was expected to become the first male athlete to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships, and the first male athlete to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships.

Neeraj has no plans for marriage yet
