Nadia rape case: CBI team reaches main accused’s residence

Days after the Calcutta High Court transferred the Nadia rape case to CBI, a team of the premier investigating agency has reached the residence of the main accused. TMC leader Samar Goala’s son Braj Gopal Goala is the prime accused.

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped when she went to a birthday party of local TMC leader Samar Goala’s son Braj Gopal Goala (21) on the night of April 4. She died on April 5. The victim’s family alleged that the body was cremated without an autopsy under pressure from a local Trinamool Congress panchayat leader, whose son Braj Gopal Goala (21) is the prime accused in the case.

A police complaint was lodged five days after the incident.
