MYSURU: A 22-year-old woman who allegedly killed her two-year-old son was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in Gattavadi village in Nanjangud taluk on Thursday. Nanjangud police said that they found two-year-old Mokshith inside a bucket filled with water, while his mother, Annapurna, was hanging from the ceiling. Annapurna allegedly took the extreme step following an argument with her husband, Mahadevaprasad.
“Annapurna locked herself in the room after Mahadevaprasad left home for work, and her father-in-law left to work in the farm in the morning on Thursday. The tragic incident happened when Annapurna’s mother-in-law was at her neighbour’s house. When Annapurna did not open the door for a long time, the concerned members of the family decided to break the door open to find both her and the child dead,” said police.
24-year-old found murdered
A 24-year-old man from Rammanahalli in Mysuru taluk, was found dead late on Wednesday. Police suspect that the victim, Arjun, the driver of an earthmoving vehicle, was murdered. Police said that the body was found in a trench, with the head smashed in. “We suspect that he was smashed on the face with a boulder,” said police, who suspect the involvement of people acquainted with the victim.
