Police team reached the spot after the murder
BJP’s panchayat president and state scheduled caste wing office bearer have been murdered in Poonamallee, Tamil Nadu. The incident took place on Thursday night when Vallarpuram grama panchayat president BBGT Shankar was returning from a wedding.
Bomb thrown at car, killed when it came out
Police said some unidentified assailants stopped their vehicle and hurled crude bombs at the vehicle. As Shankar tried to escape, the miscreants surrounded him and killed him. On information, the police reached the spot and after investigation sent the dead body to the mortuary. Police said that several cases are pending in the name of Shankar, further investigation is underway.

BJP state unit condemned the incident
BJP state chief Annamalai condemned the murder of the BJP functionary and said, ‘The incidents of crime are continuously increasing during the DMK rule. Police should protect people and their property. But the government has converted them into the propaganda department of the party. CM Stalin, who is handling the Home Ministry, is unable to handle law and order and is deceiving the people by calling himself No.1 CM. I demand that the culprits be caught immediately. I warn that if such incidents continue, BJP will protest across Tamil Nadu.
Last year also a district president of BJP was murdered
Let us tell you that last year also Balachandran, the central district president of the SC/ST wing of the Tamil Nadu BJP, was murdered. Even at that time, the assailants had stabbed Balachandran hundreds of times. Balachandran was also provided with a private security officer by the state government, yet the miscreants carried out the incident.
