The
education
system
has
changed
phenomenally
over
the
years
with
foreign
languages,
international
celebrations
and
modern
ways
of
living
taking
precedence
over
cultural
ways
and
Indian
celebrations.
Schools
are
rapidly
moving
towards
getting
a
more
global
identity.
They
take
pride
in
making
the
students
ready
for
courses
and
jobs
abroad.

Veterans
in
the
education
industry
and
folks
of
stature
have
often
pointed
out
how
our
rich
historical
values
and
culture
are
struggling
in
this
race
for
modernization.
While
it
may
seem
like
the
end
of
the
road
for
our
cultural
heritage,
some
visionaries
are
taking
steps
to
come
up
with
the
right
mix
of
modern
education
and
traditional
teaching
methods.
One
such
person
is
Shri.
Prabhakar
Bhat,
a
renowned
social
servant,
public
figure,
and
RSS
leader
from
Mangalore,
Karnataka.
It
is
easy
for
a
man
of
his
scale
and
popularity
to
wash
his
hands
off
responsibility
and
work
only
for
his
welfare.
However,
he
understands
his
responsibility
and
works
hard
for
the
future
of
education
in
the
country.

Ms Nidarshana Gowani invited to the inauguration of one of its kind school in Karnataka

His
consistent
efforts
are
reflected
in
his
endeavour
Sri
Rama
Vidyakendra.
The
methodology
that
the
school
follows
is
a
spectacular
mix
of
traditional
and
modern
teaching
methods.
The
gurukul
style
approach
ensures
that
students
learn
about
the
aspects
of
Hindu
culture,
ancient
living,
and
religion.
A
typical
day
at
the
school
starts
with
Saraswati
Vandana
and
Diya
lighting.
Students
are
taught
and
encouraged
to
do
their
own
chores.
Students
speak
in
Sanskrit
and
the
only
languages
taught
at
the
school
are
English,
Sanskrit
and
Kannada.
This
ensures
that
the
students
stay
grounded
in
their
culture
but
also
grow
up
to
be
ready
for
a
global
environment.
Technology
is
seamlessly
integrated
into
the
everyday
routine
of
the
school.
Mr
Bhat
says
that
culture
is
important
and
we
ensure
that
it
doesn’t
interfere
with
growth
and
learning.

Recently,
a
high
school
science
laboratory
was
inaugurated
and
people
with
a
similar
approach
towards
education,
traditions
and
culture
were
invited
as
chief
guests
for
the
inauguration.
This
includes
philanthropist
Ms
Nidarshana
Gowani
and
her
husband
Mr
Ramesh
Gowani.
Ms
Gowani
is
the
guiding
light,
active
member,
and
trustee
of
Kamala
Ankibai
Ghamandiram
Gowani
trust.
The
trust
has
long
been
involved
in
support
efforts
for
causes
like
poverty
alleviation,
education
for
all,
food
distribution
drives,
the
building
of
temples
and
dharamshalas
and
other
socially
relevant
initiatives.

We
talked
to
Ms
Nidarshana
Gowani
about
Sri
Rama
Vidyakendra
in
a
recent
interview
and
she
said
that
it
was
an
honour
to
witness
such
a
culturally
rooted
education
methodology.
She
was
especially
impressed
by
how
fluently
the
kids
spoke
in
Sanskrit
and
how
well-versed
they
are
in
religious
teachings
and
significance.
She
also
said
that
the
students
were
very
intelligent
and
knew
a
lot
about
science
and
technology.

She
regards
this
invitation
as
a
great
honour
and
plans
to
fuel
the
development
and
growth
of
more
such
educational
initiatives.
We
hope
for
the
fulfilment
of
this
vision
and
would
be
glad
to
witness
such
cultural
immersion
across
the
country.
