Mother did not make egg curry, son killed her: Incident in Odisha’s Ganjam district; son in police custody

In Odisha’s Ganjam district, a man killed his old mother just because she refused to make egg curry. The incident is from Ganjam in Odisha. Tribeni Naik, 50, had come to her son on Dussehra. Son Sanatan returned home after drinking alcohol and asked Tribeni to make egg curry. When Tribeni refused, Sanatan hit his head on the wall.

Neighbors who came after hearing the noise came, but seeing Sanatan’s head bleeding, no one could stop him. Later, Sanatan attacked Tribeni on the head with an iron rod, killing him on the spot. The police has arrested the accused son.

According to the police, Tribeni, a resident of Gajapadar village of Tarsing police station area, had left the house a few years ago due to harassment by her son Sanatan. She was working in a prawn processing factory in Andhra Pradesh. Sanatan’s wife also left him due to anger and torture. She is living in her parents’ house.

Came home on Dussehra and stayed with my son
Due to Dussehra, Tribeni had come to her village Gajapadar. She stayed with her son. On Friday evening, Sanatan asked his mother to make egg curry for dinner and went out to get liquor. When he returned he was intoxicated. He beat his mother so much that she fainted.

As soon as the news of the incident was received, the team of Tarsang police station went to Sanatan’s house on Saturday morning. They sent Tribeni’s body for post-mortem. The rod used in the murder was confiscated from the spot. IIC Pradipta Kumar Das said that the police have also arrested Sanatan. A case of murder has been registered against him.
