1. Demolition attempt in Golden Temple, people thrashed the young man to death

The number of Omicron patients in the country now stands at 143. Maharashtra has the maximum number of 48 cases. 22 patients have been found in Delhi, 20 in Telangana and 17 in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the WHO has said that Omicron’s cases are doubling in one and a half to three days.

6. Building collapses in drain after blast in Pakistan, 14 killed
14 people died in two blasts in Pakistan’s financial capital Karachi. A private bank building collapsed in the blast. A large part of it got absorbed in the drain. Ramprasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan and Roshan Singh were hanged by the British on this day in 1927 in the Kakori train robbery case. All three were hanged in Gorakhpur, Faizabad and Allahabad jails. Prior to this, Rajendra Lahiri was hanged on December 17 in Gonda Jail. These revolutionaries robbed the train going from Saharanpur to Lucknow on 9 August 1925 at Kakori station. A total amount of Rs 4,601 came in the hands of the revolutionaries. 10 people were involved in the incident. Of these, Chandrashekhar Azad could not be caught by the police.
