This time in the Gujarat elections, neither the suspension bridge accident of Morbi nor the issue of inflation became an issue. This time BJP spread its wings in all the regions of Gujarat. In Morbi, Kantilal Amritiya of BJP defeated Jayantilal Patel of INC by 62,079 votes. Not only this, like every time Saurashtra has surprised again.

Here the BJP has achieved the biggest victory so far. Here 46 out of 48 seats went to BJP’s account. Last time BJP had won 19 seats here. Means this time 27 more. The Congress has also lost in its stronghold of North Gujarat. It lost 9 seats.

Workers are continuously celebrating at the Gujarat BJP headquarters. Many people were also seen dancing here.

Dominance of Patidar community in the state
The state is dominated by the Patidar community. Patidars are dominant in 61 seats despite constituting 12-14% of the population. In these, BJP has won 55 seats. AA played the OTP card. Means OBC, Tribal and Patidar. AAP has been able to break into the tribal areas only. Congress was thrown out here.

On the other hand, the Patidars were divided in only a few seats. Most voted in favor of BJP only. Two of the five AAP candidates are Patidars, but three big faces of the Patidar community, Alpesh Kathiria, Gopal Italia and Dharmic Malviya, who fought on behalf of the AAP, lost. OBC face and CM candidate Ishudan Gadhvi also could not win.
