There is good news for the tourists and residents of the state who are planning to visit the mountains of Himachal on the weekend. Monsoon will weaken in the state on June 1 and 2. With this, tourists will be able to visit the tourist resorts of the state as per their pre-determined schedule. Last week, a large number of tourists had canceled their online bookings after heavy rains in the mountains.

Dr. Surendra Pal, director of the Meteorological Center Shimla, said that there is a possibility of heavy rains today and tomorrow. However, the weather will remain clear in most areas on Saturday and Monday, but on Tuesday the Western Disturbance will be active again and heavy rain is expected again.

219 crore flattened in 4 days

The rains so far have caused a lot of destruction in the state. Government and private property worth Rs 219.30 crore has been destroyed in four days of rain. Jal Shakti Department alone has lost Rs 100 crore and PWD Rs 90.50 crore.

19 people killed, 34 injured

According to the State Disaster Management Authority, 19 people have died, three are missing and 34 injured due to various reasons during the monsoon season from June 24 to 28.

Of these, 9 died in road accidents, 5 drowned in river, 3 fell from roof-roof or high places, one due to landslide and one due to other reason, while 3 persons are missing. 24 people were injured in different accidents.

69 mm of rain in Dholakuan in 24 hours

During the last 24 hours, Dholakuan in Sirmaur received maximum rainfall of 69 mm, Shimla 51 mm, Mashobra 44 and Dalhousie 29 mm. In Shimla, there has been a lot of devastation due to the heavy rains that lashed for one hour in the afternoon. Due to this the water got filled in many houses and shops. Roads turned into ponds.

9 incidents of landslide

During the monsoon season, 9 major incidents of land slides have happened. Incidents of cloudburst in Sujanpur and floods in Kothi Nala, Bagi Mandi, Mohal Kullu, Pajehi Khad, Kinnaur have been reported at 6 places.
