The south-west monsoon, which was stuck for 8 days due to cyclonic storm Biparjoy, has now started progressing rapidly. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy and continuous rains for the next 15 days in Bihar, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, parts of the Gangetic coast of West Bengal and 8 north-eastern states.

It started in some states from Monday. It rained in the coastal areas of Delhi, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and remained cloudy during the day. According to IMD, heavy rains may occur over Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal in the next two days.

An alert has also been issued in these states regarding this. At the same time, Biparjoy storm is fulfilling the lack of rain in the country. Only North-West India has received 37% more rain than the quota.

Biparjoy has brought so much rain in Gujarat and Rajasthan in the last four days that it has made up for 20% of the rain deficit due to weak monsoon across the country.
