modi: After Modi Returns, ‘repeat Of 1984’ Threats On Social Media | Ludhiana News – Times of India

JALANDHAR: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not address a rally at Ferozepur and decided to return after his cavalcade got stuck on a flyover on the Moga-Ferozepur highway, threats of genocide and ‘repeat of 1984’ (massacre of Sikhs) were openly given on social media. Not only veiled handles on Twitter have been used for posting hate messages against Sikh community, even from genuine Facebook accounts the threats of ‘repeat of ‘84’ have been given.
A hashtag ‘bta nahi cheta raha hoon’ was run in Devnagri with this message. Shikohabad, UP, based Ajai Singh posted in Hindi “84 will start appearing as a minor incident, Indira (Gandhi) only had admirers of supporters, he I modi…Narendra Damodardas Modi, Lord of hearts of crores of bhakts, even if he would get a gash, neither (you) race would be visible nor any history would remain, it will not be seen who is innocent or who is culprit, stay in your limits… Punjab government should also note and so should Bhindranwale’s illicit progeny”.

This message was widely shared by other FB users with the hashtag and several others posted similar comments. Some tweaked or added something more to this message but idea remained the same — threaten a genocide. One Abhiram Jha Kashyap, claiming to be assistant teacher in education department of Bihar, also shared this message with addition, “Now it appears what happened in ‘84 was correct,’ in a reference to massacre of Sikhs in November 1984.” One Suresh Mistry, apart from posting abuses, added, “If there had been any gash, or there would be one, then we shall not see who is responsible, then weapons will be used from one side only and these would continue till last impressions of your race (nasl) will be eliminated.” One Sandeep Bhardwaj commented on FB, “Remember, Indira Gandhi and Narendra Modi, both are separate personalities, here earth would not shake, your several generations would be shaken.”
