As Cyclone Biparjoy makes its landfall in Gujarat images have emerged highlighting the damage caused by the cyclone. In response to the situation, the government has taken proactive measures to ensure mobile communication. Mobile service portability has been enabled, allowing users to manually switch to any available telecom operator to maintain connectivity in case of service unavailability or temporary disruptions in the subscribed network.
“In case your subscribed Telecom services are down, you can now utilize any Telecom operator’s network,” tweeted Licensed Service Areas (LSA) – Gujarat, which falls under the Department of Telecommunications.

How People Can Connect To Any Mobile Network?
The real-time mobile number portability has been activated. Users do not need to visit any SIM card seller, they can do this on your own. Here is how:
Step 1: Go to Settings on your phone
Step 2: Go to the SIM card
Step 3: Choose Mobile Networks
Step 4: Choose the network manually
Step 5: Here you will get a list of all available networks. Choose from the list regardless of your subscribed telecom operator.
Mobile operators in the state include BSNL, Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vi. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the facility of mobile service portability has been extended to the following districts affected by Cyclone Biparjoy: Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Porbandar, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Junagadh. This service will be available until midnight on June 17.
