Two constables of Ladakh police were violently attacked by some miscreants. Both the soldiers are seriously injured. An FIR has been registered against eight accused in the case under various sections including attempt to murder.

This information was given by Leh SSP PD Nitya Singh on Monday. He told that a special team has been formed to nab the accused.

The SSP said that on Sunday, the police received information that two groups were fighting among themselves in a restaurant in Leh. As soon as this information was received, Sub Inspector Mohammad Jani and Head Constable Ghulam Rasool reached the restaurant. He tried to pacify the matter, but some miscreants started fighting.

Head constable referred to Srinagar
Head Constable Ghulam Rasool was referred to Territory Hospital Srinagar for specialized treatment. Both the constables will be given a compensation of Rs 10,000 by the government. Here, the SSP said that the accused had also attacked taxi drivers in Kargil sometime back. Later the accused were also arrested. The local leaders there are demanding strict action against the miscreants.

Alert issued at checkpoint
SSP said that alert has been issued at all the check points. All the accused of the attack will be arrested soon. The SSP appealed to the people to inform the police if they have any information about the accused. Police will take legal action against those helping the accused.
