Minor Girl Alleges Rape By Neighbour At Delhi Hospital, Police Register Case Under POCSO Act

New Delhi: A minor girl, hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Loni, was allegedly raped in a room at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in the national capital by her neighbour, Delhi Police informed on Friday.

“Yesterday, a call was received at Guru Teg Bahadur enclave Police Station that a minor girl, a resident of UP’s Loni, has been raped in a room at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital. On this, the statement of the victim was recorded who stated that her neighbour raped her,” news agency ANI reported Delhi Police as informing.

According to the police, the victim stated that she had called the man and went to meet him when the accused, a peon, took her to a room and allegedly raped her.

“She also stated that she herself called him and went to meet him. Alleged who is working as a peon took her to a room and allegedly raped her. The girl has been medically examined and a case under various sections including POCSO Act registered. Accused apprehended. Probe on,” the police stated, as reported by ANI.

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) aims to protect children from all types of sexual abuse.
