Meet Navjot Singh, The Chandigarh Engineering Student Who Filed Record 77 Patents In Research – News18

Chandigarh University has emerged as a centre of excellence for research and origination during the last 5 years. It delivers students plenty of opportunities through funding and mentoring to young and innovative minds. One such innovative mind is an engineering student named Navjot Singh – who hails from Ludhiana, Punjab. His father is an officer in the Indian Army. He is a student of Chandigarh University and has filed 77 patents and has won many awards. A patent is a property right granted by a government to an inventor for a set period of time. These patents include Revolutionising Network Security with sustainability and intelligent IOT enabled library bookshelf. His patent list also includes Revolutionary portable Device Integrating Nano sensors and Internet of Thing (IoT) for Early Detection of plant pathogens, Real Time AI Driven system for Anomaly Detection in Networks and Revolutionary Handled Cyber Security Device in Compact Form.

In 2024, he was awarded the Baroda Achievers Award in which a cash prize of Rs 31000 was awarded. He also received the Best Researcher of the Year award from Chandigarh University on the occasion of the 56th Engineers Day. He has qualified among 35 teams in the Smart India Hackathon organised by the Government of India.

According to a news agency, Navjot has secured sixth position in the e-Security Hackathon 2024 organised by the Computer Society of India. A total of 100 teams participated in it. He also secured first position in the Faculty Development Program on Disaster Management and Preparedness 2023 organised by the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

At the international level, Navjot has received a Certificate of Excellence for Book Chapter Review from BP International in California. He has received a training certificate on bushfire from Newcastle University, Australia. He has also been selected as a member of the Technical Program Committee in the Society for Research Development (SRD).

Navjot Singh has published more than 70 research papers and book chapters. He has also received the Best Paper Presentation Award in IEEE-International Conference on Power Electronics, Intelligent Control and Energy Systems 2024, International Conference on Recent Developments in Cyber Security-2024, International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Computing Applications 2024, International Symposium on Computing and Communication Systems for Industrial Applications, Second International Conference on Data Science and Information Systems,2024.
