  • MP Dilip Ghosh inaugurated and handed over to the passengers

Kharagpur. Lift facility has been made available to passengers at Medinipur railway station under Kharagpur-Adra division of South Eastern Railway. Two lifts have been installed at platform number 1 and platform number 2/3 of the station. Now it will be easier for old, women and sick passengers to move from one platform to another.

Keeping in view the increasing number of passengers in Medinipur, provision of lift was made. In the year 2018-19, a budget of Rs 10.71 crore was approved for a total of 24 lifts at various stations of the division. On Tuesday, Medinipur MP Dilip Ghosh inaugurated both the lifts on platform number 1 and 2/3 at a function and opened them for passengers.

On this occasion, Kharagpur Divisional Railway Manager MS Hashmi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Rajesh Kumar and other senior officers of the division were present. In his address, the MP said that due to the arrangement of lift, the passengers will be greatly facilitated, this station is very busy and there has been a constant demand for lift here.
