Man Used Contract Killers To Shoot Wife, Two Held | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: Investigation into the firing on a 30-year-old woman in Maan Darwaja area of Surat last week has revealed that she was shot at the behest of her husband, a jawan in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), as she had refused to divorce him.
Police on Wednesday arrested two men — Ravindra Yeshe (37) and Narendra alias Mayur Jadav (20) for attempting to murder Nandini alias Nanda More. The accused have told the police that they were offered Rs 40,000 to kill Nandini by her husband Vinod More.
Yeshe is a resident of Vitthal Kalbhol ni Chal in Pune, Maharashtra while Jadav lives in Subhash Nagar in Limbayat but is a native of Jalgaon, also in Maharashtra.
Police recovered a motorcycle, a country-made pistol, two live cartridges and two mobile phones from the accused. The duo was booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 307 (attempt to murder) and Arm Act.
On March 12, when Nandini was walking near her house the accused came on a motorcycle and fired three rounds at her.
She suffered bullet wounds — two in her left arm and one on the left hip. During the medical examination, doctors found a fourth bullet lodged in her right thigh. Nandini was not aware of the fourth bullet.
According to police, Yeshe, who is a friend of Vinod was facing severe financial crisis. Vinod offered him Rs 40,000 to kill his wife Nandini. Vinod also offered to arrange a vehicle and weapons in Surat for him. Yeshe took the offer and Jadav joined him. Police said that Vinod gave the duo a country-made pistol with six live cartridges. He also arranged for a motorcycle that belonged to his friend Dev. The accused duo fired at Nandini on two occasions — first on February 26 and then on March 12.
Nandini had married Vinod in 2010. The couple did not have any children so Vinode asked for a divorce. But Nandini refused. When Vinod filed a divorce petition in court, Nandini came to stay with her parents at Maan Darwaja. They have been living separately for the last four years.
A team from Surat police was on its way to Maharashtra to nab Vinod.
