RAJKOT: An affair with the same woman resulted in the brutal murder of a 30-year-old man, who was killed by his business partner, in Thangadh village of Surendranagar district.
Police have detained the accused Bhavesh Mer for the murder of 28-year-old Arjun alias Arjan Kuchadiya. Both are natives of Porbandar district.
They had joined hands and purchased an earthmover. The duo got a contract of removing earth in Thangadh and were staying there. Meanwhile, Arjun indulged in an affair with a woman, who later ditched him, and got into a relationship with Bhavesh, said police. This often resulted in fights between the duo.
About five days ago, Bhavesh called Arjun saying that they had got work to dig out earth in Songadh village. However, when Arjun reached there, Bhavesh killed him and buried his body at the spot using the earthmover.
On Thursday evening, a tractor was loading mud from the spot when labourers noticed a hand in the dug up earth. They informed police, who extricated the body.
GN Shiyala, investigating officer, Thangadh, said Bhavesh was under suspicion and he has been detained. “We will lodge a complaint of murder against him,” he added.
The complaint was lodged by the deceased’s brother Karan.
