Man Held For Raping His 10-year-old Daughter | Surat News – Times of India

SURAT: A 30-year-old jobless man and a father of three children was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping his eldest daughter aged 10 years in Sarthana area of Surat. The accused is a native of Nepal and had been living in Surat for a few years now. He had returned to his native place during the Covid-19 pandemic and had come back about to Surat a month ago.
The incident occurred at their residence on Thursday afternoon. The accused had locked his younger kids, a seven-year-old girl and four-year-old son, in a room before allegedly raping his eldest daughter, said police. Later the accused threatened his two kids and instructed them to tell others that a man with long hair and a black t-shirt had come to the house, police added. The accused then sent his seven-year-old daughter to her grandmother’s house who lives in the same neighbourhood to inform her that the eldest daughter had got hurt. When the grandmother saw that the girl was bleeding heavily from her privates, she took her to SMIMER hospital. The accused and his younger kids had also accompanied the victim to the hospital.
The doctor on duty after check-up informed the police and filed a report. Sarthana police personnel questioned the grandmother and the younger siblings of the victim. The young children told police the story that their father had instructed them to tell. The accused told police that he was out for work when the incident happened.
Police formed teams and started searching for the man with long hair and a black t-shirt as described by the two children.
However, when the police scanned the CCTV footage from the area they saw the accused near his house at about 10.30am with his brother-in-law. The accused and his brother-in-law were seen entering the former’s house. Around noon, the brother-in-law was seen leaving the house alone, this made police suspicious.
During questioning, the accused confessed to raping his own daughter, said police.
