Man arrested for murdering wife in Tamil Nadu | Coimbatore News – Times of India

TIRUPUR: The city police arrested a 31-year-old man on Thursday for murdering his 25-year-old wife.
The arrested person was identified as K Kumar, a native of Kasidharmam village in Tenkasi district. Kumar, a labourer, was staying in a rented house at JJ Nagar on Vanjipalayam Road here with his wife Dhanalakshmi and two sons aged nine and seven.
Dhanalakshmi, who was working in a banian company, was in a relationship with a Tenkasi-based man, a police officer said. “She would often go there to meet him and also kept in touch on phone. On Thursday around 2.30am, a verbal altercation broke out between the couple over the affair. Kumar, in a fit of rage, attacked Dhanalakshmi with a sickle. She sustained five injuries and died on the spot,” the officer added.
The 15 Velampalayam police sent the body to the Tirupur Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem and registered a case against Kumar under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Kumar was remanded in judicial custody.
