Mamta again supported Ganguly: Said – Center did wrong with Sourav; Would have protested even if this happened to Tendulkar

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee supported Sourav Ganguly for the presidency of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Mamta said that today was the last day to submit the ICC nominations, but the Center has insulted Sourav by not sending his nomination.

Mamta said, why not remove Jai Shah?
Mamta said that if the central government did the same to Sachin Tendulkar, I would have protested. Mamta asked the question to the Center and said that if Ganguly is from Bengal, then can he not be the President of ICC? The Supreme Court has extended the tenure of both Jay Shah and Sourav Ganguly. If one has been removed, why was the other not removed from office?

Wrong with Sourav: Mamata
Mamta Banerjee said that wrong has happened with Sourav Ganguly. Told the Center that if you are in power today, you have done wrong with Ganguly. Sourav also knows what will happen if you do not come back to power in 2024.

Mamta had appealed to Ganguly to contest elections

Mamta said – Sourav was wrongly removed

Roger Binny appointed as BCCI President
Former all-rounder Roger Binny has been made the President of BCCI. Binny was elected President on Tuesday at the Board’s AGM. He has replaced Sourav Ganguly. BCCI’s AGM took place at Taj Hotel in Mumbai. Secretary Jay Shah, former President Sourav Ganguly, Vice President Rajiv Shukla, Treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal and Roger Binny were also present in the meeting.
