Mahesh Babu’s Brother And Actor Ramesh Babu Passes Away At 56

New Delhi: Popular actor of the South Indian film industry Mahesh Babu’s brother Ramesh Babu has breathed his last earlier today. Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu, who was also an actor has reportedly passed away due to the effects of liver disease on January 8, 2022. The 56-year-old actor’s family shared the news in a statement and requested the fans to avoid gathering at the cremation due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The statement from Ghattamaneni family reads, “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ramesh Babu garu. He will continue to live on in our hearts forever. We request all our well-wishers to adhere to the COVID norms and avoid gathering at the cremation venue. – Ghattamaneni Family”.

Meanwhile, a few days back, Mahesh Babu tested positive for COVID-19. The actor shared the news with his fans in a statement on social media that read, “To all my fans and well-wishers, Despite taking all the necessary precautions, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms. I’ve isolated myself at home and have been following medical guidance. Request all those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested. I urge everyone who’s not taken their vaccination to do so immediately, as it reduces the risk of severe symptoms and hospitalization. Please follow the COVID norms and stay safe. Can’t wait to be back.”

Ramesh Babu retired from cinema in 1997 after acting in over 15 films. He set off his foot in the Telugu film industry with the 1974 film ‘Alluri Seetharama Raju’. Ramesh Babu has also produced Mahesh Babu starrer movies like ‘Arjun’ and ‘Athidhi’.
