Mahavikas Aghadi not formed in Goa: Shiv Sena-NCP in the election fray against Congress in Goa, the first list of candidates will be released tomorrow

Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena and Praful Patel from NCP have announced this alliance by holding a press conference.

Shiv Sena-NCP, which together formed the government in Maharashtra, will now contest against the Congress in Goa. Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have announced an alliance in Goa on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Sanjay Raut said, “NCP and Shiv Sena will contest elections together in Goa. We had discussions with Congress, but no result came out. We wanted an MVA-like alliance in Goa. If Congress feels that they should be alone. If he can get majority, then my best wishes to him.”

Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson Praful Patel said that we had offered the Congress to contest the Goa elections jointly, but it was in vain. He neither said yes nor denied. NCP and Shiv Sena will jointly contest Goa elections. Not in all 40 seats, but in sufficient numbers. The first list may be released on Thursday, after that other lists will be released.

Priyanka Chaturvedi targets Congress
Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Wednesday criticized the Congress party for not being part of the opposition in the Goa Assembly elections. Priyanka Chaturvedi said on Twitter that even though Congress does not want to tie up with anyone for Goa elections, it should not try to stop other parties from doing so. The Shiv Sena MP said that the Congress is not taking the opposition along, which is causing further divisions. Only BJP will benefit from this.

Elections in Goa are to be held in a single phase on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10. The election dates were announced by Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra at a press conference earlier this month. BJP is the ruling party in Goa. This time Goa Forward Party, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) are also in the fray.
