New Delhi: Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut on Sunday said that Maharashtra is the land where law prevails. His comments came in response to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s Raj Thackeray’s comment on removing loudspeakers from mosques or else they will put up loudspeakers in front of Mosques and play Hanuman Chalisa, news agency ANI reported.
“Raj Thackeray was talking about taking down the loudspeakers installed in mosques yesterday. First, see in which all BJP ruled states Azaan has been stopped, loudspeakers removed from mosques…This is Maharashtra, where law of the land is followed,” Raut said.
He also said that Thackeray’s event in Shivaji Park on Saturday was thought to be a BJP event.
“People thought it (MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s event at Shivaji Park yesterday) was BJP’s event…The law of the land prevails in Maharashtra. Home minister everything will do as per the law,” he said while talking to the media.

On Saturday, Thackeray had said that he is not against prayers, but loudspeakers should be removed from the mosques.
“I am not against prayers, but the government should take a decision on removing mosque loudspeakers. I am warning now… Remove loudspeakers or else will put loudspeakers in front of the mosque and play Hanuman Chalisa,” he had said in Mumbai.
He also talked about the development in Uttar Pradesh saying, “ am happy to see that Uttar Pradesh is progressing. We want the same development in Maharashtra. I will visit Ayodhya, but today I will not tell when, I will also talk about Hindutva.”
During his address, Thackeray also attacked Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar by accusing him of doing caste politics. He said that caste politics has to stop so that everyone identifies themselves as Hindu.
“Sharad Pawar has increased casteism. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) divided people on the basis of caste in the state. If we do not get out of caste politics, then how will we become a Hindu,” he said.
