MUMBAI: The number of full time MSRTC drivers, conductors and other staffers dismissed from service crossed the 500-mark on Tuesday as the strike by workers entered its 62nd day.
Officials said that 148 more workers were dismissed on Tuesday, taking the total to 563.
“As many as 23,660 workers have resumed duties which includes 109 who returned to work on Tuesday,” said a spokesperson, adding, “Now, 158 depots have restarted operations while 92 are still completely closed.” Those who resumed duties have got pay hikes up to 41% in basic salaries.
