LUDHIANA: Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Ludhiana as on Saturday 610 persons, 561 from the district including 56 health care workers, tested positive for the disease even as there was one death due to disease here. On Friday 345 persons, 324 from the district had tested positive for the disease.
As per the health bulletin, death of a patient from Himachal Pradesh was reported from Ludhiana hospital here on Saturday.
Meanwhile, health department officials that with no death from Ludhiana, the total number of deaths of the district remained at 2120 whereas 1066 out of district/state deaths have been reported in Ludhiana Hospitals till now.
Health department said that till date 3030687 suspects have been tested for Covid in Ludhiana District. It added that of the 561 cases from Ludhiana, 34 were contacts of positive patients, 81 were from OPD, 279 were from Flu corner with Influenza Like Illness, 56 were healthcare workers, ANC 1, 109 patients were being traced and one was a police personnel. 49 persons from other area tested positive for the disease on Saturday.
Local health department officials said that till Saturday total number of patients from Ludhiana district was 89424 whereas with the number of cases from outer districts/states increased to 11976.
Civil Surgeon said that till now 85653 Covid positive patients have recovered in Ludhiana District which constitutes 95.78% of the total cases.
