Lucknow News : UP government will link Aadhaar with Aadhaar by creating unique ID of every farm, Chief Secretary told the plan

Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra has said that the Aadhar card has become a medium to better reach the central and state government schemes to the people. With the help of Aadhar, the benefits of the schemes are being passed on to the eligible beneficiary. Aadhaar has helped a lot in eradicating corruption and has saved the state government about Rs.8400 crore. The Chief Secretary said that each farm would be linked with Aadhaar by creating a unique ID.

The Regional Office of Unique Identification Authority of India, Lucknow organized a one-day state-level workshop on the topic ‘Recent Initiatives to Simplify the Use of Aadhaar’ at a hotel in the capital on Thursday. Addressing the workshop, the Chief Secretary said that almost 100 percent adult base has been formed in the state, but there is still a lot of work left in the children below 5 years of age and children in the age group of 5 to 18 years.

He said that the School Education Department will have to expedite this work so that the base of all the children of 5 to 18 years becomes the base. He said that the benefits of schemes are being extended to 1.92 crore school children with the help of Aadhaar. It is necessary to update Aadhaar with time, he added. The Aadhaar of the people should be updated in all the districts of the state.

Aadhar saved 2.5 lakh crores
Saurabh Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India said that people’s lives are being improved due to Aadhaar authentication. It is proving to be a better means of good governance. He said that the Government of India has saved about 2.5 lakh crores due to taking the schemes to the people with the help of Aadhaar.

Aadhaar becomes the easiest and most authentic medium
Alok Kumar, Secretary, Planning Department, said that when Aadhaar was introduced, it was not even thought that through this the benefits of schemes can be reached to the beneficiaries, but now Aadhaar has become the easiest and better medium to reach the schemes to the people.

Aadhar enrollment of 22.5 crore people done in UP
Prashant Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General, Unique Identification Authority of India said that Aadhaar enrollment of 22.5 crore residents of Uttar Pradesh has been done. Every day 40,000 Aadhaar enrollments and 71,000 Aadhaar updates are being done with the help of machines. 12 Aadhaar Seva Kendras are being operated in the state. 24 departments are taking various schemes to the people with the help of Aadhaar authentication.

Siddarth Das, Director, Government of Orissa and Sofi Ya Dahiya, Secretary, Government of Haryana gave a presentation on the innovative experiments and best practices done for Aadhaar authentication in the schemes of various departments of their state in the workshop. Director Lt. Col Praveen Kumar Singh conducted the workshop. The Director of the Authority, Nitish Sinha proposed vote of thanks. Various departments of state and central government participated in the workshop.
