Lock Upp Star Munawar Faruqui Says He Is Married, But Fans Still Root for Anjali Arora-Faruqui

On being questioned by show host Kangana Ranaut about the flutter around Munawar on social media, the comedian confessed to being married and having a child. Initially reluctant to talk about it, Munawar on Ranaut’s insistence added that he was married at a young age.

No longer living with his spouse since the last 1.5 years, Munawar Faruqui also revealed that his separation process was already in court, which was why he did not wish to talk about his marriage in public. The 30-year-old also revealed that he was doing the reality show for his son.

Actor and model Anjali Arora, who had recently professed her love for Faruqui, was silent during this revelation.

Later, Munawar opened up to fellow contestant Saisha Shinde. He said a lot had been weighing down upon him since the last couple of years. He further added, “I don’t want ki jo cheezon ka ab matlab hi nahi hai wo cheezein baahar aaye.(I don’t want that things that do not mean anything today should become public) There’s already a lot, there’re so many things, there’re so many tags, I don’t want another thing… Kuch cheezein court mein hain( Some matter is in the court) I don’t want those things to come out. Thoda sa baat karunga to sabko pura jaanna hog. ( If I talk a little about it, everyone will want to know the whole thing).”

Munawar was also quite hesitant when ‘Lock Upp’ host Kangana Ranaut showed a blurred picture and asked him to answer truthfully about the buzz on social media that he had generated. When he refused, she shared past experiences from her own life. Indirectly referring to the infamous episode with then married Hrithik Roshan, she encouraged Munawar to reveal the truth to avoid negative backlash on social media.

Although Munawar Faruqui’s revelation left many shocked, this was not the first time it happened on the show. Post this revelation, many on social media came out in support of Anjali Arora and rooted for the pair to stay together come what may.

‘Lock Upp’ streams on MX Player and ALTBalaji.
