There was a stir when Leopard arrived in Kota on Saturday morning. Leopard badly injured four people. Then he entered the kitchen of a house. The husband and wife living in the house locked themselves in the room. They kept on screaming to save their lives.
After this the forest department team reached the spot and after a lot of effort, the leopard was controlled. The team first tranquilized the leopard sitting on the kitchen platform and then it was taken to Abheda Biological Park. Those injured in Leopard’s attack have been admitted to the hospital.
According to locals, the incident took place around 5 am in Mahavir Nagar Colony. Leopard was spotted around 5 am in the vicinity of Shiv Jyoti Convent School. He attacked 4 people at different places here.
Leopard sat in the kitchen of the house for about three hours. The Leopard, sitting near the gas, was barely controlled by the team of the Forest Department.
Hearing the noise of people there, Leopard climbed on the roof of a house. From here he got down the stairs and reached the kitchen of the house. Hearing the voice, when the husband and wife came out of the other room in the kitchen, they were shocked to see Leopard in the house. He ran and locked himself in another room.
On the other hand, on receiving the information, many officers-employees including Additional SP, TI Kota (South) of three police stations reached the spot. MLA Sandeep Sharma Congress leader Vidyashankar Gautam also reached on the information. The forest department team was informed. About three-four hours later, at 10.54 minutes, Leopard could be tranquilized in the kitchen of the house. It was told that Leopard had also attacked a cow in the Gangauri Park area.
Those who saw Leopard gave information
- BJP Mandal General Secretary Devendra Tiwari told that he got up at 5 o’clock in the morning to go to the branch. Then his friend Gopal Mahawar informed about the sighting of Leopard in Ganaur Park area. Then when he looked outside, Leopard was running by jumping on Gopal Mahavar’s roof. On this he informed the control room.
- Mayank Meena, who was injured in Leopard’s attack, told that he had gone to open the gate of the house at 6 in the morning. At that time the leopard was sitting down. Then he came upstairs and attacked and ran away. Attacked two people in another street.
- Local youth Karthik Dixit told that at around 7.30 he saw Leopard sitting in front of the house. When the dogs started barking, they ran away and went to another house.
- Teacher Tara Sanadhya told that it is about 7.30 pm. was going to worship. At the same time when Leopard appeared on the road, I cried.
- Local resident Nimesh Rathore told that at around 8 pm, Leopard climbed through my house to another house. He entered the nearby house through the stairs. I called the helpline number 100 of the local ward councilor and the police.
Attacked on the roof: Ram Vilas Meena
Ram Vilas Meena (56), who was injured by Leopard’s attack, said that after morning walk I go to feed the birds on the roof every day. Around 7 in the morning I came back from the walk and went to feed the birds on the terrace. As soon as the door of the terrace was opened, Leopard was seen in the corner on the roof in front.
The injured Ramvilas told that he chewed the paw of my hand. Even after this he kept on trying to attack me.
Before I could understand anything, he groaned and attacked me. I grabbed both his legs with my hands. He was attacking by slapping on the neck. When I hit him somehow, he ran and jumped on the neighbor’s roof. I started going down, he attacked again from behind. I kept fighting, after that I grabbed him and threw him hard on the roof to the side.

The injured Harishankar Verma told that it is a matter of five or 10 minutes at seven in the morning. There was the sound of something jumping on the roof. I thought it might be a monkey. We live on the first floor. Only my wife and I were at home. I left the house to get vegetables from the market. As soon as I opened the door, Leopard was sitting on the front porch. As soon as he saw me he ran towards me.
The injured Verma told that Leopard continued to paw. His body was badly pierced by his claws. He also tried to hit him in the face.
I didn’t understand anything and my hand went straight to his neck. I grabbed his neck with both hands. I started screaming loudly. He started hitting with the claws. This situation continued for about 1 minute, my wife and I kept shouting loudly to save. Then pushing Leopard away from us, we husband and wife ran away from the spot and closed the door.
On receiving the news, the police also reached the spot. After this the forest department was informed.

Then Leopard jumped from the roof and entered Usha Nandwana’s house in the neighbourhood. Usha Nandwana, who was imprisoned in the room for about two and a half hours, told that she was working in the chowk. Husband was in another room. Suddenly there was the sound of growling. Leopard went straight into the kitchen. We husband and wife went to a room and took the door closed. Called for help and then called neighbors and relatives. Usha’s husband Girja Shankar told that Leopard had entered their house around 8 in the morning. Leopard’s roar was heard continuously during the rescue.
Leopard was rescued from the house of Girja Shankar and Usha Nandwana. Both were imprisoned in the room for about two and a half hours.
ADM City Brijmohan Bairwa told that two-three people have been attacked by Leopard. His condition is not serious. He has been admitted to the medical college for treatment. Where did the Leopard come from? It is not known yet. This area is close to the Chambal river. There is a forest on the banks of Chambal. That’s where Leopard must have come from.
