In the Drang assembly constituency of Himachal Pradesh, the spark of rebellion has started smoldering in the BJP. A large section of the party is preparing for rebellion after the party high command gave ticket to Puran Chand Thakur. People associated with BJP ideology say that the party has hurt the parachute leader by giving him a ticket. Basically people associated with BJP ideology have been disappointed.
The result of this is that many leaders who have been running shoulder to shoulder with the BJP since 1972 have made up their mind to abstain from the elections this time, while some are preparing to leave the party. Senior workers have raised the demand from the top leadership of BJP to change the ticket here and make the original BJP candidate the candidate, otherwise they have also warned to be ready for the consequences.
The party seems to deviate from the principles
Former President of Drang Mandal BJP Sant Ram Kataria said that the party seems to be deviating from the principles. An attempt has been made to break the morale of all the workers by giving a ticket to the person who is making rhetorical statements against the BJP from the Congress platform. This will prove to be harmful for the party in the times to come.
He alleged that the top BJP leadership and the Central Election Committee gave ticket to the parachute leader without taking the opinion of party workers including the Mandal executive, senior office bearers. This has shocked the workers. What kind of bath was given by the party high command to the leader who abused the BJP till yesterday, so that he became holy to the BJP?
Fielded a candidate without taking opinion in 1998, defeated
Sant Ram said that from 1982 to 1993, the BJP used to field candidates in the elections after taking the opinion of the common workers of the party. In 1998, when the candidate was fielded without taking the opinion of the workers, the party went to the third position. After getting this setback, again bringing a change in the policy, taking the opinion of the workers, the candidate was fielded and won in 2017.
Ram Singh said that in 2017 BJP candidate Jawahar Thakur had won. Now if the high command wanted to change the ticket of the sitting MLA Jawahar Thakur, then it would have been right if the party workers had taken the opinion of the person associated with the original ideology, but by not doing so, the high command has caused the party’s misery in the Drang assembly constituency.
He said that the party high command should change the tatkal ticket and give ticket to the original BJP. Otherwise, after consulting all the senior and junior BJP workers, a plan will be made to field a person with an honest, educated and friendly image as an independent candidate. The party high command may have to lose many of its votes.
Kaul Singh Senior and experienced leader, only ideology differs
Sant Ram said that Kaul Singh Thakur is a senior and experienced leader. Only the ideology is different, due to which I have been opposing them till date. Never voted for Congress from 1972 till today, but the parachute leader brought down by the high command is basically from Congress ideology. He does not even have BJP membership. Strong opposition to such a leader will continue.

BJP Yuva Morcha workers also got into strife, rebellion
BJP Yuva Morcha General Secretary Jyoti Kapoor did not get ticket due to non-receipt of ticket to BJP Yuva Morcha workers. The workers of Yuva Morcha were preparing for the last 5 years for Jyoti Kapoor to contest the elections.
Jyoti Kapoor had further strengthened her ticket claim by holding a big convention of BJP workers in Nagwai, but after the party high command gave ticket to the parachute leader, now the Yuva Morcha workers have gone into revolt.
BJYM worker GK Pandit said that the BJP high command has lowered the morale of the Yuva Morcha workers by taking wrong decisions. In such a situation, the workers of Yuva Morcha have also started preparing the upcoming strategy.
