Landslide on Delhi-Manali Highway: Mountain debris and rocks fell on the road near Mandi, traffic closed

In Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, there was another landline on Sunday. On the Manali-Delhi National Highway-21, near a place called 7 Mile, mountain debris and rocks fell on the road. Due to this landslide, the highway was blocked and long lines of vehicles started on both sides.

The Mandi administration has completely banned the movement of vehicles from the highway as a precautionary measure. Mandi SP Shalini Agnihotri said that traffic has been stopped due to landslide on the highway. Machines have been installed to remove the debris. The highway is expected to be restored very soon.

Route diverted for small vehicles
The SP said that small vehicles can travel via Katola from Mandi to Manali and small vehicles can travel from Manali to Delhi via Chalchok. Large vehicles may have to wait for the highway to be restored. In fact, the work of making the National Highway four-lane is going on in Mandi.

According to the SP, landslides occur due to the cutting of mountains being done under the Fourlane project. This keeps the National Highway in the news. Due to the landslide, people remain stuck in the jam for hours. People also have a lot of problem with this. Sometimes it takes time for the patient to get treatment due to the ambulance getting stuck in the jam.
