Kriti Sanon Completes 9 Years In Bollywood: Here’s A Look At Her Top 5 Performances

New Delhi: With 9 years to the release of her debut film ‘Heropanti’, Kriti Sanon marks 9 successful years in Bollywood industry. Apart from sweeping away all the Best Debutant awards for her debut film, Kriti became a household name within no time portraying memorable characters with films including hits like Mimi, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Luka Chuppi amongst others, marking her place as one of the most bankable and sought after actresses of Bollywood.

During an interview recently, Kriti Sanon opened up about a phase in her career when she felt she had more to offer but struggled to find filmmakers willing to take a chance on her. When asked about those times, she described the experience as frustrating yet enlightening. She said, “There were a lot of moments of that… knowing I could do more, but not having the kind of opportunities I wanted on my table. When you come from the outside, you don’t know people, they don’t know you, it takes a while to make an impact, and for people to associate with you. You end up doing the best you can from what you are offered. It may not necessarily be the best thing in the world, but every film has taught me something..”

Today, Kriti has solidified her position as one of the beloved actresses in the industry and now there is no slowing down.

Here’s taking a look at her top 5 performances that got appreciated by the audience:

Bareilly Ki Barfi

Touted to be her first multi-starrer film set in a small town, Kriti proved her acting chops in this family entertainer also featuring Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana. For those who thought Kriti as a glam doll on screen, the actress pulled off the character of a small-town girl by picking up the right accent of her character. Not to forget, her effortless and appealing dance moves in the energetic number ‘Sweety tera drama’ became the party anthem of the year!

Luka Chuppi

Labelled as ‘surprise package’ by critics and industry alike for her stupendous performance, Kriti looked gorgeous in the film and her earnestness and simplicity as a small-town girl appealed to the audience immensely. Post Bareilly Ki Barfi, Kriti took a few steps ahead with this one coming across as super confident as ever, nailing her performance as a complete actress. Kriti’s earnest performance and crackling chemistry with Kartik Aaryan made this one of her memorable films.

MIMI

‘MIMI’ has truly proved to be a standout film in Kriti’s career graph, much like Deepika Padukone in ‘Piku’ and Alia Bhatt in ‘Raazi’. The versatile actress, with her confidence and vulnerability, effortlessly glides through multiple evolutions from being a dancer, a surrogate, and a mother in the film. With the audience and critics alike touting Kriti’s performance in MIMI as ‘her career’s finest’ and ‘one that highlights her prowess as an actress’, she now finds herself among the top league of female Bollywood stars. For this, Kriti won a Filmfare and IIFA award in 2022.

Bhediya

Seven years after sharing screen space with Varun Dhawan in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’, Kriti reunited with the actor in ‘Bhediya’, third in Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy genre after ‘Stree’ and ‘Roohi’. The audience and her fans were truly surprised to see her in an amazing character in the film and on top of that, the way her character brought a never expected twist to the film has stunned the audience to the next level.
