kopar: Traffic warden, another youth die soon after drinking toddy in Dombivli | Thane News – Times of India

KALYAN: Two youths died late on Monday due to alleged overconsumption of toddy in the break off area of Dombivli in Thane district. The two deceased, both in their twenties, have been identified as Sachin Padmukh and Swapnil Cholake, a warden in the Dombivli traffic unit who had been on leave for two months due to health reasons.
Vishnu Nagar police have registered a case of negligence causing death against the toddy seller, Ravi Bhatni, and launched a hunt for him.
Police said padmukh and Cholake, both residents of Kopar, visited the toddy shop near Kopar railway bridge with their friends on Monday evening. They left for home around 9pm and the duo collapsed on the road itself. Their friends rushed them to a hospital where the doctor declared them as brought dead.
Pandarinath Bhalerao, senior police inspector of Vishnu Nagar police station, said, “The doctors said the two died due to an overdose of toddy.”
