The second crucial character is Debashis Som, known as Sandeep Ghosh’s right-hand man and advisor. On the day of the incident, Debashis was contacted multiple times by Ghosh, and he admitted to having had several conversations with him. Dr. Reena Das described Debashis as someone who carries out Ghosh’s orders. The third figure is Dr. Somnath Das, a forensic expert who worked at RG Kar Medical College until his transfer to Bankura Medical College in 2023. Dr. Das alleged that the college operates under a political network and that corruption is prevalent. He also claimed that Ghosh was involved in manipulating the post-mortem procedures. Dr. Akhtar Ali, the fourth key figure, is a former deputy superintendent at RG Kar Medical College who is now posted in Murshidabad. Dr. Ali has accused Sandeep Ghosh of corruption and has lodged multiple complaints against him, alleging that Ghosh was involved in the illegal sale of dead bodies. The fifth character, Dr. Subhankar, a former student of RG Kar Medical College, criticized Ghosh for the increased corruption during his tenure as principal. Dr. Subhankar cited instances of corruption and noted a significant protest against Ghosh in 2021. The sixth figure is a medical student whose identity remains hidden. This student revealed that new batches were subjected to control mechanisms, including training on ragging and managing interactions with senior students. The seventh key character is another student who described the intense mental pressure faced by hostel residents, labeling it as academic terrorism. This student mentioned the principal’s lobby and its connections to the TMC unit that supports Ghosh. Finally, the eighth figure, also a student, disclosed that those who did not align with the principal’s network faced punitive actions, including academic penalties. This student shared their personal experience of being failed in the second year as a form of retribution.
