Kharagpur division also made record in loading, DRM cut the cake

Kharagpur. With highest ever monthly freight loading of 2.75 million tonnes in the month of March, KGP Division has achieved best ever freight loading of 29.5 million tonnes in FY 2022-23. The previous best loading figure was 25.34 million tonnes in the last fiscal of 2021-22. The division has received a revenue of Rs 500 crore. 2432 crore through freight loading. During the financial year, the division ensured timely supply of essential commodities like coal, iron ore, food grains, industrial raw materials etc.

The division recorded a significant increase in the loading of coal, petrochemicals, steel products imported from Haldia port. Establishment of new loading and unloading points and goods shed also helped in boosting the freight loading of the division. Mobility and timely supply of wagons as per the demands also boosted the performance of the division. Frequent meetings with various business ventures and exploration of new traffic by the business development team is also a major factor behind this increase in freight traffic.

Officers expressed happiness by feeding each other cake

The KGP Division team led by DRM KGP MS Hashmi, Operations Head (Sr. Dom), Sachendra Verma, Business Head (Sr. DCM) Rajesh Kumar and other divisional officers celebrated the occasion by cutting cake and distributing sweets. DRM Kharagpur congratulated all for the remarkable performance and exhorted all to set higher benchmarks in the new financial year.

Senior DCM Rajesh Kumar said that meetings and discussions will be held with various industries and parties to divert road traffic to rail. The division will focus on finding new ways to increase traffic during the coming financial year.
