Kerala reports 8 new Omicron cases taking tally to 37 | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The total Omicron cases reported in the state have become 37 with 8 more cases tested positive for the new variant.
Among the new 8 cases, one each are from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam and two each from Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Thrissur.
The case reported in Thiruvananthapuram had come from Russia on December 22. The Kollam positive case had come from Namibia on December 16.
The cases reported in Alappuzha had come from Qatar on December 11 and 17. The two cases reported in Ernakulam had cone from UK and UAE on December 13 and 18 respectively.
The one case reported in Thrissur had come from Kenya on December 13 amd the second case is the contact person of this traveller.
Of this the one case reported in Ernakulam is a 3-year-old who had come with her parents. However the parents have been tested negative.
All the positive cases have been isolated in different hospitals and their contact lists are being prepared. Meanwhile the first Omicron case reported in Ernakulam has been tested negative and has been discharged from the hospital. This 39 year old person had come from the UK.
